Two men walked away uninjured whena light plane crashed into a playground atCape Clear Primary School, near Ballarat, about 1.30pmtoday.

No children were in the playground when the twin engine Cessnacrash landed, clipping a powerline on the way down.

Cape Clear Primary principalChristian Brown said the men were very lucky.

“They hit the power line and they got out alive,” he said.

“The plane didn’t break up, so they were very, very fortunate.”

Mr Brown estimated both men were aged in their 60s and said one was from Western Australia.

“There were two pilots and they came over to the school after the crash and we gave them a bit of TLC,” he said.

Mr Brown saidboth men hadminor bumps and bruises.

He said the men had left Jamestown inSouth Australia this morning on way to Avalon Air Show in Geelong.

“They struck bad weather over Cape Clear andcircled the school looking for somewhere to land,” he said.
