The annual general meeting of the Arts & Crafts – Tourist Information Centre will be held next Tuesday at 12:30pm in the Cottage.
As things look now, we will be hard pressed to maintain a regular service to tourists, tradespeople, out of town people and commercial travellers who drop lots of dollars into our town. Without the Cottage and its multiple services, it would not be long before we are bypassed.
Think careful what that would mean in the future.
We could lose patronage to our motels, caravan park, even see business down sizing (less services and goods) for all of Blayney and shire and that leads to further unemployment.
The volunteers at the Cottage have worked many extra shifts to maintain this service thus helping to maintain what we do have. It may not be perfect, but it is our town. Businesses and services deserve out support to keep what they, too, have put in our town and shire.
The plain fact is, the Cottage can’t maintain the service with just 12 to 14 people. This is an urgent call for volunteers. Please come down and found out what would be entailed in a shift, etc. I guarantee you will enjoy the meeting and greetings and have more energy because you will be helpful yourself stay active in mind and body.
