Community transport services in the state electorate of Monaro will share in more than $93,000 in NSW government funding.
The funding will go towards providing safe and reliable transport for those who can’t access regular services in areas including Snowy River, Cooma-Monaro, Bombala, Queanbeyan, Bega Valley, Palerang and Yass Valley.
Organisations to receive the funding are Snowy-River Cooma-Monaro Community Transport, Bombala Community Transport, Bega Valley Community Transport and Yass Home Living Support.
Member for Monaro John Barilaro said the government was committed to supporting community transport and recognises the integral role community transport providers play in helping residents overcome barriers to access.
“Through funding community transport, we can make sure people who cannot drive themselves have access to their local community and essential services and ensure they don’t feel cut off or isolated from their community,” he said.
